Eligibility & Grant Criteria

The Jesse Parker Williams Foundation generally limits grants to organizations operating in metropolitan Atlanta that specifically provide healthcare services to women and children. Periodically, the Trustees may initiate a targeted grantmaking program and request proposals from organizations known to work in a specific area of Foundation interest.

The Foundation considers grants only to institutions determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be tax-exempt and classified as “not a private foundation.” No grants of any kind are made to individuals. Organizations eligible for support are those providing health services to women, female children, and males less than 12 years of age in the greater Atlanta area.

The Foundation prefers to support programs which improve access to health services for women and children. Exceptions might rarely be considered when a grant of a capital nature would fulfill this objective.

Grantmaking Policies

The Trustees are highly selective in their grantmaking decisions and prefer to provide meaningful support to effective and efficient programs.

Trustees should not be contacted by applicants. However, the Trustees encourage potential applicants to contact and communicate with the Foundation staff for guidance prior to the submission of any proposal. The Board of Trustees meets quarterly in February, May, August, and December to consider applications.
